Imperial German Feldmutze / Pork Pie Cap

Unusual constructed Imperial German feldmutze also known as a Pork Pie Cap. The cap is possibly a late ersatz version as it does not conform to standard examples. The cap is of field grey material with the standard red lower band. Cap is complete with the two cockades. Interior has a sweatband which we believe is a later addition. Grey cloth lining. No regimental stampings can be found inside. I have never seen a cap produced like this before.

British Honourable Artillery Company Sword Circa 1800

Early example of the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) pattern officers sword with engraved field cannons to the top pommel. The sword is of typical pattern with large cruciform quillions with folding dish guard. The sword is styled on the 1796 pattern. Sword is missing its leather scabbard. Blade shows some finger staining and pitting. Hilt has the original wire binding. A good example of this early pattern sword. These swords were carried by officers of the Honourable Artillery Company during the Napoleonic Wars.

Napoleonic Wars British 1796 Pattern Sword

Unusual variation British 1796 pattern sword. This example is the same style as the standard design but with a triangle blade very similar to that of court swords. The folding guard of the sword also has a fitting to stop the section collapsing down which I have not encountered before on this type of sword. Blade has remains of the original etching including the Royal Cypher and the inscription “For My Country And King”. Sword is missing its scabbard so the blade shows some staining. A scarce variation of this early pattern sword. These swords were carried by British officers during the Napoleonic wars, this variation is possibly a private purchase by a wealthy officer.
